A frequently discussed topic is what you can do in Bulgaria or what job you can take, and how, and on what grounds?!

In order for everything to be legal, there are several options:
You have been invited to Bulgaria on the basis of an Employment Contract and you have the right to work for 3 months;
You have your own business;
A company has hired you for work, having proved that you are a „unique“ employee and that without you the firm will struggle.
An exception is when a foreigner has married a citizen of Bulgaria – they have the right to immediately take up official employment.

Practically everyone opens a firm and works as a „freelancer“, and after receiving permanent residence status (permanent residence in Bulgaria)  the need for the firm disappears.

If you have a doctor’s, lawyer’s or similar diploma, and you wish to work in your profession, you need to learn the Bulgarian language, legalise your diploma and complete an internship in your specialty of no less than 6 months.

The minimum monthly salary for 2017 is 460 leva; on average earnings are around 700-800 leva.

If you are involved in baking, cooking, or any services – you will always be in demand, if not among Bulgarians, then among Russian-speakers. As you know yourselves, any service by word of mouth is the best advertising.
